Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His music is one of the biggest in music in the Latin mainstream. In 2017 the hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu won the Colombian Kids Choice Award Favorite Song. The year 2017 saw the release of ADN, his first long-player for La Industria Inc. in Medellin. The album climbed to number 8 in the Top Latin Albums Chart. Following that year, he joined forces with Ozuna to create Vaina Loca which climbed to the top of five on the Top Latin Albums chart. He worked together with Noriel for Mala Influencia in 2020 and the following year came out with his second album, the charting Dopamina. He appeared later in 2021 on a duet TINI on her streaming hit song Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo is from an musical family, as both his elder brother and mother also play music. Turizo has told interviews that music was a necessity. He was taught how to play guitar, saxophone ukulele, and piano as a young child. His initial choice of career was to be a vet However, his brother Julian persuaded him to learn singing with a Cuban teacher. It was the result that he found his talents for singing, and the result transformed his career path.
